Thich Minh Chau dies at 94

The Vietnamese monk Ven. Thich Minh Chau, best known as the author of A Comparative Study of the Pali Majjhima Nikaya and the Chinese Madhyama Agama (first published by the Saigon Institute of Higher Buddhist Studies and currently published by Motilal Banarsidass), passed away September 1st at the age of 94. Bhikkhu Bodhi, the prodigious Pali translator and founder of the humanitarian organization Buddhist Global Relief, has written about the effect on Thich Minh Chau on his life in his piece "My First Encounter with a Buddhist Monk".
